Dedication for the NCOFCU Eddie Paris Annual Golf Tournament

In honored memory of Edward J. Paris, Jr., a devoted firefighter and cherished friend, we establish the Annual NCOFCU Eddie Paris Golf Tournament. Eddie was not only an exemplary Boston Fire Lieutenant on Engine 18, but he also served tirelessly in various roles within the Boston Firefighters Union, impacting the lives of many with his unwavering dedication.

Born and raised with a passion for service, Eddie graduated from Catholic Memorial High School in the Class of 1972, where he built a foundation of strong values and camaraderie. His commitment to the Boston Firefighters Credit Union, as both a Board member and Treasurer, illustrated his belief in the importance of community and support for fellow firefighters. Moreover, his involvement with the National Council of Firefighters Credit Unions emphasized his dedication to the welfare of firefighters across the nation.

Though he faced the challenges of occupational cancer, Eddie's spirit remained unyielding — just like the flames he battled. An avid golfer, he found solace and joy on the green, a testament to his love for life and the bonds he formed with friends and family.

This tournament not only honors his legacy but also serves to foster connections within our community. It is a celebration of service, sacrifice, and the indomitable spirit of firefighters. May each swing of the club and every hole-in-one echo Ed’s passion, perseverance, and love for both the game of golf and the brotherhood of firefighting.

He is survived by his devoted wife Maureen (Lee) Paris of Holbrook. Loving father of Kerri Tierney and her husband P.J. of Norwell, Kaitlyn Paris and her Fiance’ Shane Kelly of Quincy, and Edward F. Paris of South Boston. Beloved son of Kathleen F. (Murphy) Paris of Westwood and the late Edward J. Paris.  Brother of Jane M. McCarthy and her husband William of Medfield, Richard F Paris current President of BFD Local 718 and his wife Eileen of Hyde Park, John M Paris and his wife Donna of Pepperell, and Kathleen F. Kineavy and her husband John of Dedham. Adoring grandfather of Emma and Eric Tierney. Brother in law of Ellen Sullivan of Middleboro, William Lee of Hanover, and Catherine Albano of Dracut. He is also loved by many nieces and nephews.

Let us come together each year to remember Eddie, to support those in need, and to strengthen the bonds that unite us. In his honor, we tee off with purpose and heart.
